I can't comment on the food, because we didn't stay. When we walked in, the restaurant had a funny smell. Then I looked around and noticed that there were crumbs of food all over the floors and tables. It looked like they were short handed, and I felt bad leaving, but I just couldn't eat there.

Great food and service from Shelly. Pauls grouper was great as were the cheese grits. Trigger fish my friend had was mild and perfectly prepared . The blue crab claws were good but a bit too much garlic.

SMOKED MULLET I love it and this is one of the very few places that has it. Hooray! It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was good. They smoke it themselves here. We had it as an appetizer. The rest of our meal was very good as well. I don't know what took us so long to "discover" this place. It's certainly one of the best seafood joints around. Service - 5 STARS Food - 4 STARS Ambiance/Decor - 3 STARS Location - 3 STARS Value - 4 STARS

Been going to this restaurant for a few years. There are two locations. The original was at Route 41 or South Cleveland near Page Field. The second location is at North Fort Myers. Our preferred location is the North Fort Myers in the Best Western Hotel facing the gulf. The gulf view with the sunset is simply spectacular! I have a craving for smoked mullet with cream cheese spread, so my wife suggested we go to 3 Fishermen! Four of use drove over the bridge to North Fort Myers. As soon we sit down and ordered the drink, the waitress bring the smoked mullet/cream cheese spread with crackers. I attacked them immediately and went down smoothly with my drink! We have tried hog fish, trigger fish but today special was grouper. We ordered seafood platter, fried shrimps, stuffed Salmon, and grouper with coleslaw, apple sauce, rice and green bean.. They were delicious. There were so many fried shrimps, we have to pack them home! Another great meal at 3 Fishermen!

The best stuffed flounder I have ever tasted. Very casual but serious seafood. They know what they are doing. My wife had the conch chowder which she said was delicious. We also tried the delicious crabclaw dip - outstanding.

Very nice place for seafood. Owner (I assume) was super attentive and service very pleasant. Our first time there, and will go back for sure. Just had the Blue Crab claws and Fried Oysters. Both were hot and quite tasty. Lots of specials for bigger eaters. Ambiance was very pleasant, and fellow customers went from older (such as us) to little ones eating applesauce. Don't hesitate to try it. Also gave us a couple of fresh Red Velvet Cupcakes with a fresh Raspberry for desert, which was a perfect ending.

A Groupon got me to pursue my love of seafood at this establishment. When I arrived, shortly after 11 AM, there were only two other people seated, and I waited almost 5 minutes before someone appeared from the kitchen. I was handed two menus, and one appeared to be a freshly printed offering of specials and lunch items. The focus of that menu, with the largest typeface, was Stone Crab claws, a specialty of Southwest Florida whose season had just begun! No debate about that one. A few minutes later the waitress reappeared, and apologized politely due to the fact that the last order had just been sold - to one of the two people who were there before me, just after the restaurant opened? So, after searching through the menu, I decided to settle on Oysters on the half shell - another potentially local product, but also available further north along the Florida panhandle. A few minutes more, and the definitely flustered waitress reappeared with more bad news - oysters were also sold out. If I hadn't already paid for part of my meal (the Groupon), I would definitely have been out the door. So, I ended up ordering Soft Shell Crabs - a personal favorite, that is rarely prepared properly, but can also be harvested locally. Next, the waitress asked if I wanted them boiled or fried???? Sorry, but I've never heard of, or had, boiled soft shells, and would expect them to be fairly disgusting, with absolutely zero texture and very little substance. Now that I was really worried, I asked for them to be fried. Surprise, surprise - the kitchen knew what they were doing, even if the service staff didn't. With the right kind of batter or breading, and the right kind of cooking oil at the right temperature, a nice crunchy exterior leads to a creamy, delicious interior. Give the chef a raise. They were pretty nearly perfect. A few last critiques - I ordered a "side" of coleslaw, which amounted to a small bowl containing less than a cup of product, but priced at $2.25 - much too expensive for the portion and quality. The hush puppies looked like they were well cooked on the outside, but were soft and mushy on the inside - and, too sweet. Their clam chowder was wonderfully thick and rich, but could have been much warmer. It is a real shame when the front of the house does such a poor job that the back of the house, and the entire restaurant, suffer for it. If I was in the neighborhood, and had an absolutely insatiable craving for soft shell crabs, I would go back. Otherwise, NOT.

The blue crab claws were delicious. Perfectly seasoned and very meaty. Friendly place. Good food!

This is one of those fabulous Yelp finds. I found it a couple of years ago and I am so glad I did. Being born and raised in Louisiana I take seafood seriously. Living in Florid the last decade or so has only intensified that. This place would be at home in either state. The food is always fresh and spot on. Its only ever overshadowed by the exceptional service. I always try to stop here when I am in Ft. Myers.

I came here after hearing some great reviews about the place. When we arrived, we were seated immediately and had a breath taking view of the water and docks. Wow! The view was amazing and just added to the meal! The food was pretty darn good too as I had alligator bites, frog legs, and the Dolphin that was grilled perfectly. Only bad thing...they were out of oysters that I was craving!

Had really high hopes for this place as it seemed to be rated one of the best around fort myers for seafood. I was super excited when there was a groupon for it, but should have known better. I have worked in the restaurant business for many years and this place needs some improvement. Our server, Tatum, was awesome and wanted to make sure we had a good time. I do wish she would have warned us about certain dishes. Conch chowder was merely vegetable soup and the warm peel and eat (vs cold) was microwaved. I don't know how else shrimp can explode from their shells and be cooked to such a rubbery/grainy texture. The coleslaw side was not dressed and even tasted unwashed. Perks: the snow crab legs were reasonably priced and mediocre. Pretty comparable to most crab I've had at restaurants. The snapper was well cooked, except on the edges. Hard to know if it was fresh, but it was tasty. Wine was pretty cheap so that of course made thing better :). Overall, won't return and won't recommend. Can't imagine fresh seafood is hard to come by in Florida, but this establishment would do well to focus on it. Hope management takes note and makes some changes.

Great seafood, and atmosphere ...right on the water. You def. wanna get the cheese grits on the side, whatever dish you get! I DO love the stone crabs...Only problem was they were just awful to open, wish they had them more pre-cracked. Takes to long to crack....by the time I was halfway done...everyone else had finished their meal! But there are great shrimp & fish meals, along with other choices. The smoked fish spread you can get to begin with to spread on the crackers was GREAT! And that's coming from someone who really isn't that much into fish! Prob. the smoked flavor helped with that. Also the hush puppies are always great!

Food: Solidly good. 4 stars. The fried shrimp were some of the best I've had, and the fish, oysters, & coleslaw were very good. The scallops were small & lost in the breading, and the deviled crab tasted like it was frozen-boxed-reheated (skip that for sure). My aunt's steak was cooked properly & she was happy with it. My daughter's chicken tenders & applesauce were nothing remarkable. The smoked fish spread was okay - heavy on the smoke, light on the fish. Service: Not so great. Waitress was nice enough, but left us for over 20 minutes between drink delivery & taking our order (and even then we had to flag down the other waitress to get her). We were 1 of the entire 3 occupied tables - come on. Then it took another 30 minutes for our food, and our order came out in pieces. Some of the sides came 10 minutes before the entrees for some reason...? We'll probably try this place again next visit, but definitely not if we are working in any sort of time constraint!

Well everyone I talk to said go here ....so I did. Being from the SF Bay Area I was surprise that such a great eating place is in a semi strip mall.. The place was small 15 or so tables. People were super nice and friendly. I had the blacken red snapper. Blacken with flavor and so moist inside I could have of had more. Hush puppies ,crisp outside tender inside.. I had cheese and grits. first time. No comparison. I can take them or leave them. Great service. Good food. They have 2 locations so if interested give them a try.

I can't believe no one has rated this place yet! It's a total hidden gem! Small place with lots of warmth and very affordably fresh seafood caught close by. I had the grilled shrimp which was super flavorful on a bed of rice with a baked potato and cheesy grits. The fried alligator was delicious and chewy! The hogfish was fabulous, the grilled showcased the fish's wonderful fresh flavor and the blackened was savory and slightly spicy. The fried shrimp was some of the best I've ever had. Super juicy and crunchy to the extreme. Definitely try this place out and wash everything down with a big pitcher of beer. Also the fish spread that comes as a free starter is really, really goooood!

The nice lady behind the counter recommended this place with no hesitation when I asked for a local seafood place for lunch. Been here about 5 minutes and its already packing up for lunch. Ordered a fish spread appetizer, and although it is good. It is kinda low on fish and high in spread, more like cream cheese with some old bay and a few chunks of smoked fish. Unlike the nearly all fish spread we enjoy at Frenchys in Clearwater. Had a cajun grouper caesar salad. it was pretty good. Bob said his grouper sandwich was good as well. good local joint.

This place has some of the best seafood I have ever had. When we pulled up to this strip center eatery I was not expecting such a catch. The raw osters were outstanding and a steal for 9.99 per dozen. The grouper was equal to the osters and very reasonable at $16.00. The first night I had this broiled to perfection but the second time I tried the grouper fried and was blown away. Moist and tender with no fried oil taste at all. Wonderful. This came with 2 sides that were solid food. You can probably pay a lot more for grouper in Fort Myers but I don't think you will be any better. No bar, just wine and beer. Wait staff is friendly and helpful.

Dined at 3 Fishermen Seafood Feb 22 2011. We had Hogfish and is was delicious. Service was great, food was wonderful and price was right. This is not a fancy restaurant, but sure is a warm friendly one that was a great find for our first trip to Ft Myers. Give it a try and I'm certain you will enjoy.

Have eaten here twice now. All meals were very good. The smoked salmon spread appetizer is very good. Took some out-of-town friends with us the second time and they also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The view over the water is very nice and we enjoyed dinning outside on the patio (when it was a bit cooler).
